A native of Rockland, Maine, Les Raye  is a self-taught artist who discovered his creative talent late in life. Encouraged by family and friends, he is now specializing in original pencil drawings of both well-known and unknown individuals.

His overall objective is to elicit an emotional and spiritual response in the observer. As Les said, “We live in challenging times and people need positive role models who they can look to for  inspiration, comfort and reassurance. I want my drawings to instill a renewed sense of hope in people, and to strengthen their faith in humanity and in God.”
